Trans hydraulic fluid

I wouldn't even think of trying a substitute in my Kubota HST tractor. Hydraulic fluid cost is noise level next to what the tractor cost I'm sticking with SUDT2 - or whatever is current for HST. Among other things it meets warranty requirements and quiets the whine.

Since the cost of different brand HST oils is in the same ballpark I bought Kubota SUDT2 for my F3060 "rebuild project mower", because I have read other F model mower users saying exactly the same thing about reduced HST whine!

Have you actually noticed difference in noise?

Supposedly that's the same as Mobil 424, which was fine for my application.

It is. I thought maybe it was different than 424 but then I noticed a small band of writing near the bottom that said formerly know as 424 or something along those lines. I meant to take a picture and share but keep forgetting

I've looked at the tsc fluid but it didn't state on it that it was gl4 universal tractor hydraulic fluid , so if it don't state gl4 don't use it in the hst Mahindra tractor because your warranty will be void. If you can get the Sinopec universal tractor brake fluid it's 10w30 GL4, I used it it was very good But went back to the Mahindra brand because if an issue comes up with the trans Mahindra has the dealership to check a sample and match the dye in the fluid, if it's not Mahindra fluid / oil they can and likely will void the warranty. GL4 got to be there for sure.

Only people that have orange blood in their veins would continue using OEM oil, filters, grease, etc. after a purchase. Any aftermarket product that meets specifications cannot/will not void a manufacturers warranty. Why? Because of the Magnuson-Moss warranty act that prevents this deceitful practice. Does Kubota have a refinery somewhere? Caterpillar does this too, and they've been called out for it many times, and they lose every court case over it. In fact I'll bet Kubota has too.

You right about the Magnuson-Moss warranty act but if the customer don't know a manufacturer / dealer can still pull a fast one, I was helping out at a Mahindra dealership shop to help am get caught up and Mahindra would tell the dealership to pull a sample of the hst fluid and test it because their fluid has a special dye. That's why I went back to the Mahindra universal tractor hydraulic fluid, just ain't up for the fight. Other than that there are a few fine products that can be used in place of.

The "does Kubota have a refinery somewhere"..... is an old red herring.
Kubota DOES have a refinery somewhere!
They have a refinery make hydraulic fluid to THEIR (Kubota) specifications!
I can MUCH better afford to buy Kubota SUDT-2, than to pay $500+ per hour for a law firm to represent me in a Magunson-Moss lawsuit.
Might only cost me $200K to be able to say .....I won!

I worked at a manufacturing plant making air compressors right out of high school. Every day the compressors were a different color, different labels, but otherwise pretty much identical. The labels had large recognizable name brands. Do you really think that refineries do much more than put the customer's label on the containers they fill of what is basically a "commodity" type product?

Perhaps some do, some don't.
On a $50K tractor I would not be willing to roll the warranty dice.
