Transferring pictures from TBN to gallery?

I lost a lot of my new tractor pictures when my computer crashed. Luckily I have been posting most of them here. I tried to retrieve them from my post to organize them in the gallery and the format was not acceptable. How do I transfer the photos from my post to the gallery?

Be sure to save them from the forum as JPGs... then upload to the gallery.

Along the same lines, I just tried to bring a picture I posted in the forums long ago directly to the gallery using the URL upload feature. But because the image was an attachment, and not a "page" per se, it didn't work. Any chance it will in the future?
