QUESTION…I have a B7510 with 50 hours. The maintenance schedule reflects that the transmission fluid be changed at 300 hrs; however, it reads that the transmission strainer (metal strainer 26 mm head) be cleaned at 50 hrs. How much fluid is lost during the removal of the strainer? I want to make sure that I have enough fluid on hand to replace the loss.

Almost all of it. Not much left in transmission. Because screen strainer sets very low in transmission case. If you check your manual again you will see Kubota wants you to change trans oil at 50 hours. My B2910 manual calls for the oil to be changed at 50 hours and strainer cleaned at 300 hours. I did both at 50 hours.

Campman,

On my B7610 there are 3 drain points for the tranny in addition to the strainer (4 total).

When I did my 50 hour I drained the two on the rear axle first, then the pluc on the mid PTO then the strainer last.

If you pull the strainer plug out first it is facing sideways and the fluid will shoot out and make a mess.
