Nope…I assumed they were socket heads also..I cleaned them out yesterday…no luck. The center hole, which was covered by the foil sticker has a hex socket on it. But it is canted to a 25 degree angle so the Allen wrenches I had with me couldn’t reach….they have a hex type nut on each side approximately 22mm that I plan on pulling just to see. But they look more like spool caps. If I can google a pic of the part, that should help. We‘ll see. Those are actually socket head bolts requiring metric Allen wrench
Hmm, well that is what the parts book shows. I agree that it looks like the spool is stuck or the coils are both bad which is unlikely.Nope…I assumed they were socket heads also..I cleaned them out yesterday…no luck. If you can see a part’s diagram or mockup……I was wondering if it was possible if it was attached from inside the case? Also was wondering if I could unscrew the solenoids? I have a service manual, but only have the electrical chapter with me.Hmm, well that is what the parts book shows. Big thanks…..just skimmed thru it. But like you said, it says to remove the 4 bolts on top. I should be able to get back out there tomorrow for a better look. I oiled it up pretty good and I’ll bring some brake cleaner out there to double check on the boltsHere is the SM pages
I got back to the Ho a couple days ago. I drilled down and found the socket heads just as you described. It seems they had an epoxy or hard sealant on top of them….. the bad news is they won’t budge. I was able to get a hammer type impact wrench on one of them, but just rounded out hex. I cleaned the other 3 out and put some penetrant on top to let them marinate. My next plan is to get a long drill bit….8-12” and drill them out. The socket heads appear soft, but I couldn’t get 100 % centered over the hole, so I’ll wait for the longer bits and slight modification of access hatch…more laterHere is the SM pages
