Thanks, davkir and ramheadjim. Those sites were interesting reading. Guess my pile of chain is general purpose Proof Coil....good enough for working around my place and tie down for my little BX tractor. :thumbsup: I probably bought it at Lowe's several years ago vs getting a heavier grade at a tractor or trailer business.

He told me that the 8 weeks he was in the commercial enforcement class, the instructors really drilled into them not to mess with the farmers.

A loose load from a farmer/hobbyist/homeowner could kill someone just as easy....don't see why a farmer should have looser tiedown regs...
