thomas there was enough snow there to give me one good slip and fall. that load cost me $300 to get home and was probably worth $800 delivered to the mill. Hemlock is worth next to nothing at $170 per thousand. all the value in this whack was in two trees, both with 2, 12 or 16 foot logs. I bucked them into 10 footers that were clear. today i cut three of the smaller pine logs. One gave clear for 3 passes each face and the others clear for 2. just so you all know what I mean, the clears are the stuff you pay $3.35 per sq. ft. for at lowes or home depot. the rest of 2 of the logs gave the kind of pine that sells as 2 common or better at like $2.35. for my use as studs and rafters/joists I couldnt ask for anything better.
