Trespassers shot

Initially, I was to understand that the landowner fessed up to what he had done when questioned by the police after the girlfriend/wife (not sure which) called the police and they went out to investigate. But then I read some of the articles linked in one of posts and it said they found the bodies near the entry gate and were looking for the shooter. If they found the bodies (not buried), then seems none of the reported articles are correct...

I will go with "D" None of the above.

Funny how little the average person really knows about the world they live in.

Trespassers.
Pot farms.
Aggregated bears.
Helmetless riders.
Granny's with Glocks.
Buried bodies.
356? Yeah, 356, 357, whatever it takes.
John Boy can't own a gun.
And backhose....

This thread has it all!

Does anyone have a link to anything that says it was a former pot farm, or that the shooter buried the bodies? I read they were found concealed near a gate. If, by concealed, they actually meant buried, that's kind of different.

One thing to note.... the authorities had mugshots of the two dead men. It never ceases to amaze me (at least around here) how often there is a shooting, and that the police already have a mugshot of either the victim, the suspect, or both.

Its been 5 days since this happened. Has anyone seen an updated article?

What the **** is an aggregated bear?
LOL

A couple of points about this ...

when you do questionable things with questionable people, you drastically increase the chance of unpleasant consequences. Whether it's justifiable or not is not the issue. The real issue is found in intentionally putting yourself into shady situations.

Thumbs up on that idea

John Boy may not be able to own a gun, but JoeBob can sell them, and he can even save you money doing so!:D

The way it was explained to me, by multiple NRA and USCCA certified instructors is, if you shoot a burglar in your house, and can prove you were left with no other options, it doesn't matter if you used a custom built gun with custom ammo in the legal case. But, there WILL be a civil case after and you will lose your *** with that custom trigger job, hot ammo, and punisher symbol.

What if you only use a well beat up 1989 Sig 226 with standard ball ammo for around the home?

I was told the same thing by my CC instructor, although I guarantee a trigger job and "punisher" ammo (They even have an ammo called RIP) will be brought up as proof you were looking for an opportunity to kill someone in both criminal and civil cases. He also stated that being in shady areas or shady situations while armed, even if you have every right to be there, is a bad idea and should be avoided if at all possible. Also noted that even though you have the right to stand your ground, you should use every opportunity to escape the situation. If the prosecutor decides to charge you, even if you prevail, you will be put through the ringer of the legal system. Better to not give any appearance of intent.

Here in Virginia you can't used deadly force to protect property. Even if someone rolled up to my rural property and decided to help themselves to my stuff, I can't even point a gun at them to chase them off (brandishing).
