My reference to "Try not paying the taxes one time and you find out who owns it." was simply pointing out that the government can pass laws allowing certain entities and professions the right to trespass without the property owner having a say in it. It wasn't really a statement about not being able to pay ones taxes.
Understand, maybe you meant:
Try not paying the property tax one time and you find out who THE BOSS IS
Around here they send you a notice with an increased amount and you can catch up. A hundred or so years ago, my ancestors used to not pay property taxes until they were going to be foreclosed on since there was no increase in taxes. And one of those ancestors was the state tax commissioner who would invest the money in the meantime. Or so the story goes.
