Triumph Motorcycle?

I am with you on the hair. I came along at the end of the hippy/flower child age. My brother and I always had long hair. I went to officer candidate school and they cut it all off. (that is a long story--I met my wife and decided I wanted to go to grad school instead of the Marines and now I realize I could have done them all--oh well, if I had another life). After that summer I kept my hair mostly short but lately it is getting kind of long and people ask me at work what is going on with the hair? Well, it is like this, am back in 1st grade and people seem concerned with such superficial things as hair or lack of it rather than what a person says and does and is all about. So I was thinking to grow it out just to aggravate people /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. You would think that by the time a person is middle aged or such that their life and character would rest on it's own merits and not their hair or teeth or girth or such as all that /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I'd probably do the same thing, except the only person it would aggravate is me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Too hot, uncomfortable, etc. and that's the only reason mine's very short. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I'm the same way about beards; only thing I hate more than having to shave is the feel of not shaving; sometimes go two or three days and that's as long as I can stand it. I envy those who can grow a beard and be comfortable with it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Had a beard [ kinda sparse ] for about three months many years ago. The first week was miserable but then became tolerable exspecialy as it was on a bet involving beverages. Always kept the little rim of hair I have short as it just plain feels better. Wish I had a nice full head of hair just for warmth in the winter.

J.

My wife absolutely can't see this post. She isn't in to TBYNet anyway.

There happens to be a young secretary at our Monroe, Michigan facility that is dying for a ride on the Triumph. I'd say she is all of 24. (my son is 28). She has told me on numerous ocassions that I just have to take her for a ride in no uncertain terms. She also said that I have to go fast enough that she has to hang on real tight.

I think I'll not take the Triumph to Monroe..................?

Okay everyone:

I waited anxiously for this Saturday so I could go pick up the Bonneville.

Worked real late Friday night so I didn't get as early start as I would have liked, but the Bonnie is now at my place, residing in the shop.

I shot a few pictures of it for everyone to enjoy, as promised. I got some very interesting looks as I brought it home in the back of the F350 Ford on I-94. People started to pass by and then realized it wasn't a Harley or a Japanese bike, but an English bike. Quite a few of them rode along side and scoped it out.

The T-100 is very quiet. Almost too quiet and the absence of a kick starter, well I was told that the Federal Government doesn't allow kick starters on bikes with a displacement of over 650 cc. The Bonnie is 790 cc.

The bike is of a smaller physical stature, just like my 1968 was. In fact, other than the quiet pipes and the absence of vibration, It feels exactly as I remember my 1968 Bonnie felt.

I will be looking forward to warm weather so that I may take it from the shop and go riding.

I did buy some "extras" at the bike shop. The shop is about 2.5 hours from my home. I ordered a set of crash (bad word) bars that have to come from Germany and will be in in about 6 weeks. A cover, Triumph of course, and a really nice Triumph Retro leather motorcycle jacket. Some more pictures too.
