What was the Japanese torpedo called that gave the U.S. Navy so much trouble in WWII?
Germany developed some AT guns in WWII that had designations such as 50/37 mm. What did this mean?
The Japanese torpedo was called the Long Lance (easy question for WWII submarine buff)
I think the example you gave would be this.. the bore diameter would be the 37 MilliMeter. The length of the barrel would be 50x37 MM or 1850 Millimeters. That might not be right, but that is what I think.![]()
I'll guess at the sabotg diameter as 50mm and the "bullet" at 37mm. For the life of me I can't think of the proper term for the weapon that is fired using a sabot.
