During WW 1 a nerd who wore glasses as thick as the bottom of a coke bottle, is said to have read every book in his home town library by the time he was in 6th grade.
He was hot to join the war effort and in order to pass the eye test had to memorize the eye chart.

He was sent to an artillery crew as their commander. The crew was a bunch of misfits that had run off 3 previous commanders.

Bullets & shrapnel started coming, he started manning the howitzer himself & yelled at the crew, you cowards get back here. He lead them to be one of the first artillery pieces to join the battles. The when thorough the whole war without loosing a man.

He later became a president of the USA.

Who was he????

Hmmm. Sounds a little like Sodium Borate, or Borax.

Yep it is Borax.

Tooth Paste.
When tooth paste first came on the scene there were many tooth powders on the market & people were pretty happy with them.
Rather than go head to head with them a whole new method of a way to advertize them.

A new tactic was devised by some one that is rumored to not have even finished high school.

What was the reason given for people to switch form powder.??????

My Dad used to do a lot of Acetylene welding...many a time I've seen him use Boraxo, which is a powdered hand soap, for a flux. He would simply dip the heated rod into the powder, which would stick to the rod, with which he would then proceed to do his welding...or brazing.

In the late 80s or early 90s there was a 'walk-behind' lawn mower with no wheels. What was its name?

There was an electric Flymo. In the UK the safety police had got hold of it and it had plastic blades. Absolutely b****y useless. It chewed the grass.
