Trivial Question Of The Day... For QA Owners Only!

Finishing mowning: FEL off 90%, Bucket off the remaining 10% (figuring to use the loader shortly after mowing)

Brush cutting: FEL on 100%, keeps the debris ahead of me knocked down

First pass around the fence line w/the bucket on. That way I have someplace to throw limbs & such into & move out of the way. After that I drop the bucket & get after mowing. FEL hasn't been off yet - don't really see any need so far. Areas that have clear fence lines - I drop the bucket before starting.

When doing a quick mowing job, I just drop my bucket. If I am spending all day and mowing in my trees, I'll drop the whole FEL after I've gone through and picked up limbs. I love mowing with nothing up front to get in my way or obstruct my view. I also hate to have the FEL banging around on rough terrain. With it off, I feel like I'm driving a sports car.

I leave my FEL on when using the rotary cutter. It helps balance out the tractor, knocks vegetation down for cutting, it finds hidden/new "obstructions", and can carry stuff. Visibility is not that bad with the NH TC series and LA series FEL. Jay

The rear of my "sun/rain/snow/dead branch" roof is clamped to Johns ROPS, the front supported to the the loader uprights. Radio, front and rear worklights, fan, cigarette lighter and speakers are all hung from the roof. Nuff said.
The bucket comes off to install forks or grapple.(or to service the battery)

Bucket comes off at QA the rest stays on. I need it for ballast and use the QA to knock down the bigger stuff I bush hog over.

jsborn -

I love your signature. The line about plowing around the stump comes to mind often since I first saw it.:D

Open field work, the loader comes off. Don't like it bouncing around.:)

Dougster,

Not skidsteer, but I'm JD quick on both the FEL and bucket.

If I can find the time before a job...like Jinman said, man it feels better to have the whole FEL off. You've got vision, manuverabilty...It feels like I'm driving the wifes car.

Joe
