Rest in Peace
During January and February of this year, I replaced incandescent and CFL bulbs inside and outside with LEDs. The only ones I did not change were the appliance lights (in the refrigerators, microwave, and oven), and the two in the Liftmaster garage door opener. I tried them in the Liftmaster and they did not work at all. I got LEDs from Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe's; 2700k and 5000k. Two are outside, 24/7 (never turned off); one is in a jelly jar type fixture, the other open. I have not found a single defective one when new, and I've not had a single one go bad so far. We have different sized bulbs and bases and four 3-way bulbs. There is a 4 bulb fixture in the master bath that I had trouble finding LEDs of the right size and with the small base; finally found Sylvania bulbs at Lowe's. When you flip the light switch on, it takes a split second for them to come on; all others are instantaneous.
But last Christmas, I bought three 70 bulb LED multi-colored web lights to put on 3 shrubs out front. This year, 2 of the sets work just fine, while only about a third of the other set works, and I have no idea why.
