Trouble with Kubota MMM kicking up excessive dust/debris?

/ Trouble with Kubota MMM kicking up excessive dust/debris? #11
I have a 60" MMM (RC60-82H) on my B8200. I bought it used and first thing I did was buy a new set of blades for it. I think it cost me $40 from the local guy, and he had two styles available - High suction and low suction. I went for the low suction. I do get some dust, but not anything too excessive. I live in a pretty sandy area. I would try some new blades and see if they help... worst case is you end up with a second set of blades so you can always have a sharp set when you need them.

I think it is the soil and grass conditions that create the dust problem.

Ditto. I dread mowing when it's dry here. Silty clay turns to dust and it raises a cloud.

Some Kubota MMMs have "blowout plates" attached under the leading edges of the deck from the factory or they can be added later. The holes for attaching them were already drilled on the bottom edge of my deck. They do just what the name implies by keeping the debris picked up by the deck from blowing out in front of the deck. I know that they work for that purpose because I made some and put them on my 60" deck under my B3030. I need them for the vacuum system I use. Before I put them on it was hard to suck up dry leaves without having them blow all over the place. With them it makes the deck work much better at vacuuming up the dry stuff. They work for me whether I have the vacuum attached or not. It might be your answer.

I just found out from my dealer that many "standard" kubota blades are high lift. I know my low lift blades make a lot less dust than my high lift blades.

I had the mulching blades put on my 48 in MMM and the discharge blank was part of the mulching kit! I have not noticed much dust with this setup!

This is a bit more excessive than most mowers. Compared to the other mowers we have (JD 265, Kubota ZD21, Grasshopper 614 and 725K) this is by far the worst. Not sure if it's the blades, the mower deck, or what.

I just learned about "high lift" blades, which another poster claims are standard OEM for Kubota. These high-lift blades 'suck' more that standard lift or low lift blades. More suck obviously means more dust and debris.
