Just because Optima owns Everstate does not mean they will perform the same nor the quality is equal. Maybe, maybe not.

My BX22 will be getting an Optima Red Top (25-910) this year. They do not cost much in the long run. Only around $80 to $85 for 910 CCA, 90 minute reserve and 44 amp hours. Or if I am lazy I can have it shipped to my door via Fedex for about $95. For the $10 delta, ship it to my door.

All I know is that when I am at school in Hartford, over 1-hour from home @ zero degrees, I am going to buy the best battery I can find. I would rather spend the extra on the battery and not on a tow.

 And pontiac made the Astre (vega clone) and the GTO at the same time too ! I still have The GTO & Corvette..........The newest one is 35 years old & they still run great.............& the doors close on the first try...........Not like the newer cars that have so little metal anymore you have to roll the windows down to get the doors to shut.............On batteries, you get what you pay for..........The security of knowing your vehicle is going to start is worth the extra $$ for me..........

Where are you finding Optima batteries for $95? I checked several websites and the cheapest all appear to be over $120 shipped?

I'm thinking about getting one for my truck this year. I plan on installing a winch so do you think I need a yellow top?

depends on which models you want. My r800 or 34r was $125 shipped but that was high since it was reverse polls. I know the one I am getting for my BX is around $85

RichZ I'm not sure they still offer it but Sears was selling a gold series battery that is guaranteed 3 years full replacement and prorated after that. I only own 1 in a modified jeep for the ranch running a 327 under the hood for rock climbing and towing a large firewood trailer around pre-tractor now I just pick up the tree with my grapple and carry it to the house. The claim to fame on the gold batteries is sort of like their tools it is date stamped and you need no receipt just take in and they replace it no wriggling or whinning around at all. The jeep tends to eat batteries due to the use and I probably will never have to pay for a battery again as it eats them in a year or so. It seems like it was around $85. when I got it but 3 batteries later its been worth it for my purposes.
