I use a inverter for my airless compressor in the van... works good for inflating tires and the compressor can be used with my underlayment senco stapler.
Bought all three in 1990 and still going strong... the 2000W inverter cost a fortune back then and I still use it for my sawzall, small sidewinder skill saw, etc.
I would think mounting the inverter inside the cab would be essential... West Marine has some inverters for boats...kind of pricey last I looked... still need to be protected.
What size compressor are you running off your inverter? I'm trying to find an inverter that I can possibly wire into my upfitter switch but don't know if it is a feasible idea yet. One of my switches is 30 amp.
