4shorts, thanks for the kind words. I checked out your pictures of the forklift restoration and it's a work of art. I wish that I could have done more of the body work on the truck but I don't have the time, facilities or expertise to do what needed to be done. Anyone taking on a restoration needs to be aware of the expected and unexpected expenses that are going to happen.
The body shop is detailing the truck today. I will pick it up in the morning when I get off from work. I'd rather drive it when it's in the low 80's than when it's about 104 at noon.
The last picture is the only one of I have of the truck when Dad was still driving it. Probably in '66 because it was traded in for a '67 White Freightliner in the fall of '66.
