Truck Size to transport

The weakest link in my setup was the tongue weight on my F150 which required a weight distribution hitch that brought it up to spec. The 20 hour trip from Tennessee to Wisconsin was uneventful ;)
My granddaughter did not make the trip on the tractor.

What is the total weight on the trailer and what is the total weight of your trailer and what is your trailer rated for?

Are you saying that a f150 can be modified to pull a 14K trailer?
My trailer weighs about 3350 and my tractor weighs at about 9000

If your using a weigh distribution hitch, you may want to get more truck or go to a goose neck or 5th wheel

I’d really doubt it would off the bumper, and an F-150 won’t live a long life pulling 14K lbs.

NO! My 2900 lb. trailer is rated 9990 GVW and my tractor and all implements were about 6500 lbs.
My issue was the max tongue weight of 500 lbs. was increased to 870 lbs. with the weight distribution hitch.

More truck will be necessary...the weight rating is about double with a gooseneck vs WDH but a F150 just won't pull 14K safely.
