Accident recovery rate for a large tow truck is $1000/hr, plus there are lots of things, like hazardous loads, that can add to the total.

So, $10K isn't that far off since I've seen some take most of a day. And then there's travel time.


We had a dry hauler overturn on a two lane country road. Load? Ammonium Nitrate and Diesel, mixed and ready to go. Load was headed to a rock quarry nearby. Call came in around 8AM, scene wasn't cleared until late that afternoon.
