Over compensating for short comings takes many forms. Some choose to drive a Vette, others choose to brag about buying one with cash.

Not sure on the weenie sizes here but most guys who have the money to buy these are the ones who hire people like me to work on them. If they took the time to take them apart, they would see just how cheaply they are put together. Ok, yes they may have fast motors but that is not the only thing that makes a good sportscar. Electronics fail (how many times do you push the door button to get in),don't let the battery get low and try to start it or you'll blow the relay in the dash and take you days to find it, transmissions go, fiberglass panels held on with small screws which crack easily, don't take door panels off too many times or you'll be buying new ones, etc, etc. Oh, not to mention how sky high the parts prices have gone, bumper emblem?, there is $100. Well you can afford the car why not the parts too. So IMO it is definitely overpriced.

Good mechanics have no troubles fixing them. So if a woman buys one what then?

I looked at a Vette one time around 1980 something and after I sat in it, no way. Still like them but if I was a 100# lighter and empty my piggy bank I might swing one. Maybe a wide body Vette.

I'd love to have one! But we already have too many cars and not enough parking, plus my wife would kill me. Really, I'd need at least double the cost of the Vette to build another garage and pay off my wife.
