Here is one of our winch tractors the company I work for makes. 2003 Mack RD model. Heavy duty headache rack with a 70000# Tulsa winch and heavy duty oilfield bumper.
425HP Mack engine with 18spd trans. Truck is made for heavy work and put up with alot of abuse. They will take this truck and a loaded flat bed trailer and attatch a dozer to the front and sometimes one pushing from behind and drag it to a well sight way back in the West Virginian hills. They say it can be a fun ride.

I researched Gail Banks and ATS. They were the only after market products on the market in '97. The Banks aftercooler flowed more CFM than the ATS. The ATS was a little cheaper, but I have dealt with Gail Banks before. He really made his name in small block chevys.
I picked up 3 miles per gallon on my 350. A note of caution though. You'd better be a fairly good mechanic and have the tools available to do either instillation. I spent 3 days just doing the Banks installation on my 350. When I put the Jet-E4 in, I had a transmission jack but the E-4 is still one heavy sucker.
460 Fords are notorious gas guzzlers. A quick mpg gain would be had by replacing the stock restrictive air intake with an aftermarket unit. I believe K&N makes a unit complete with intake piping. I believe Summit Racing sells it. If yoy wan, I'll look it up in their master catalog and get you a price. I am not in my shop where the books are right now.

Well the Banks system I lookde at was a whole package with headers and all exh. needed to get to the back. It also included some kind of ram air kit for the ari filter. I have the tools and the ability to do such a task but the idea of getting the old exh manifolds off makes me nervous. If I broke off a studd or bolt on the head I would be up the old poop creek. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Also as you probably know there is no room to work on that 460. Need to have small hands and arms with 3 elbows. I am interested in the K&N set up. I know I sold alot of them back when I ran a NAPA store in Wisconsin. Any info wouuld be great!!

A real Beaut. I've been mulling over an IH version like yours the last little while. Fleet sale... 95 model IH lo pros T444E, Allison. 20,500 GVW. with a new flat bed/gooseneck hookup. I dunno many details but it would be a truck that would do it all and more. I'm dangerous when I think sometimes... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 305-75R16 All Terrain TaKo's have the same load rating as the 8 ply razor tires that came on my Ford as standard issue. The stockers lasted about 35K, especially the rears. They were really easy to light up!!
As far as campers/RV's, I was thinking about a motorhome but the more my wife and I looked at them the more hassle we though they'd be. More plates, more insurance, a big payment, more maintenance and on and on. We started looking a truck campers as we already had the hauler. We narrowed it down to Lance and Alpenlite. Lance won out as we have 2 dealers fairly close to us while the nearest Alpenlite dealer is in eastern Pa.
I like the Alpenlite a little better. It's also more expensive. The fit and finish on the Lance and the Alpenlite is super. We looked at some other brands like Fleetwood and some others but they weren't built well at all. Misaligned mouldings, crooked doors on cabinets, loose screws, etc.
The Lance we have is a 2001 model. It's a 915 or 91/2 feet long. It has a queen size bed up over the cab (the cab over is designed for crew cabs). It is also air conditioned, 3 way fridge, stove with self cleaning oven, forced air heat, full bath with shower, outside shower, it has a big roll out awning, double sink in the kitchen and solar panels on the roof. I bought it equipped for cold weather use as I take it on snowmobile trips. The holding tanks are heated and it has extra insulation throughout. The dinette folds out into a double bed so you can sleep 4. The most we go with is 3, however. 4 people in there and you'd have to be "good" friends!! I forgot, it also has it's own generator so you don't have to plug it in to 110 volt power if you go camping in the woods!!
