I'd love to see the data that backs this statement up! Always?

He may have been alluding to the fact Kubota has the largest market share in the US market. There was a thread about this sometime in the last year or so. We don't know exact numbers other than Kubota is over 51%, Deere is #2, and everyone else put together combines for the last 20-25%. A lot of sale/resale statistics follow that trend.

So, UNCBLUE, You've not been posting since your thread has been hijacked!!! Need you to get this thread back on tract. Did you get the 'bota or are you having second thoughts? It's a pretty big tractor for 7 acres... but you can always buy more land later :D :D

Wow, this just popped up on Craig's List... Kioti DK55 w/ Loader, 4in1 Bucket & Backhoe! It's more than you need, but I'm sure if you wait you can find a bargain that fits your needs.

"...55 hp Turbo Diesel Tractor. Comes with Woods brand loader with W.R. Long 4 in 1 bucket. Also comes with Woods brand BH-90x backhoe with mechanical thumb. Backhoe is mounted with subframe to tractor, and is much safer than those mounted with 3 point hitch. Can also be removed. Tractor had pto and shuttle shift transmission. 85 hours on tractor currently...."

$16499 and it came with a local phone number... not sure if it's real.

Pretty sure OP (correctly) said HST was a requirement.

OP is MIA?

Acreage does not have a lot to do with tractor size. Right now, I could get by with my little Max28, but when our land was a blasted pile of forested Ledge, a little tractor was not going to cut it.

Hey all... I'm still around...

We've had a GC replacing our roof this week and doing some other upgrades so it's been slightly chaotic, esp with rain scattered on a few of the days.

I went and test drove the Mahindra on Wed. it's in good condition although the HST pedal was a bit hard to push and had a bit of movement fwd or backward after releasing pedal..i'm sure its just an adjustment issue.. i think it would do the job of moving mulch etc but not so sure it'd be up to the task of building the swales with FEL and tilt blade.

We're still looking and big shout out to TEG on sending that CL link... i texted and LVM for him. no response yet... it looks like a great deal.. I'd get over the shuttle shift @ that price with a Bh  my only fear is all of the flooding in Eastern NC in the summer and tractors that flooded being resold...

I'm hoping to make a decision really soon...kind of getting tired of the search and ready to just play in the dirt...

FWIW as well... someone pointed out the 2538. I've been getting pricing on the 2538 and just called this am about the TYM 354... cash price for the TYM was $20,500.. the Mahindra was $21,800.

I'm hoping it's still in play & available. I've been trying to identify why I've been reluctant to pull the trigger on a $20k+ unit. I came to realization that It's bc I only get to go up to the mts property 3-4 days per month to work on it. I'm hoping that changes as the kids get older but for the next year at least, it'll be when I can sneak away & 1 weeeknd per month. There's also the expense of the pending deck project & the new 12x12 building with a lean to for tractor storage. Until we start construction on the house, game plan is to convert my workshop to a comfy little cabin. $ is set aside for all of it but that wipes out my mts fund for at least 6 months.

If I'm running the tractor 4-5 days per month, any harm in that as long as I keep it covered & on a battery tender? I've laid out my last reservations bc ya'll have been freaking awesome. I really appreciate the help. 1 thing is certain is that I will own a tractor soon. Just trying to figure out if now is the right time or in a year. I love checking off to do lists but in my zeal may have jumped the timeline by 6mths to a yr

Covering and keeping the thing on a battery tender is better treatment than a lot of tractors get! That will be fine!

Just in case you don't know, the same key fits all the standard L models (and maybe more models). Do you have a place to secure the tractor up there? Letting the tractor sit (even without a battery tender) is fine. I hope for some dry weather so I can mow my dead weeds, it's been 3 months since I last cranked mine up. There was a thread about leaving the tractor covered or uncovered. Condensation will still gets under the tarp and mice love it.
