Murph..my bad typing on the models!

The $22,388 is for the 4310, the $21,065 is for the 4210....whew, its been a long weekend....they are both confiigured the same (4wd, eHydro etc)...thanks for the heads up on my typing error...and you are right, I twinkle a little more on the deer than the Kub, but, still haven't driven the Grand L3130, only last years model, the L3010 with Ag tires on it, not the fat turfs on a Grand L...so, I probably owe it to the Kub dealer to sit on that with the fat turf tires and then decide, but, you're right, the green does look awfully good to me (didn't hurt that the sales manager for the place got on it, shifted the sear around, and let Lindsey, my 10 year old drive it herself)...Capper

Green n Orange on Paddy\'s Day

I was looking at the same models, but the green fit much better, to me. I went with the 4310. Your pricing looks fair to me, mine was similar, but with differant equipment (I posted the deal in Deere Buying...)

I do think that the 4310 is well worth the money over the 4210. That has been discussed much around here, with most folks giving that impression. On the other hand, the 4410 is a lot more for too little....

But then, in my case, the Deere was Cheaper than the 'bota, (by $1800) so it was a no brainer - since we liked the green tractor more. If I had liked the Kubota better, it was only 1800. more....

Still waiting for mine, so we'll see.

Re: Murph..thats seat, not SEAR...

In a nutshell,

The 4210 is comparable with the L3130 as far as HP. Did not look up the others things to compare.

Your talking $1,565.00 difference and 45 minutes. If you like green the 1565 means nothing over the life of the tractor. 45 minutes isn't bad because you really shouldn't have anything major go wrong on either one.

But here is where I see you have a major problem and that might force me to go orange??? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The problem is Lindsey, she is 10 going on 13 and when she hits 13 that tractor becomes her's. You can do the hard stuff but the mowing will be her job. You will have to sit and watch like I have to do. While you are watching your wife will tell you to go do the dishes. Now you have lost your seat time.

Anyway unless orange can really change your mind having the L3130 under your seat it looks like your going green.

Good luck in your final decision and have fun with your rig.

Re: Green n Orange on Paddy\'s Day

Mike Mc...I agree with the sentiment on the 4310 vs the 4210, and the price jump to the 44 for 3 more horses doesn't seem like it's worth it....I still have to decide on the differance between the Orange and Green, once I see the orange in the Grand L with turfs. Thanks, and let me know how you like yours when it arrives...Capper

Murph!!! That is just TOO funny....!

and well said! So, I should buy the larger tractor, get the wife and kids off the seat, and stay out in the pasture enjoying the West Kentucky weather, rather than getting Kitchen duty with an easier to drive rig!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a whole new concept...thanks for all your help my friend, and I will make the decision soon, before spring really hits here on Kentucky Lake, and I'm overwhelmed with stuff to do with the tractor, which ever one it winds up being...I'm going to call McKeel tomorrow and find out the time frame for the arrival of the Grand L's , it's time to make a deal...thanks again, loved the commentary...Capper

Re: Murph..my bad typing on the models!

On the issue of 4210 vs. 4310. There are a lot of posts on the 4200 vs. 4300 from the last couple years in the green owning and operating forum that are still applicable on 4210 vs. 4310. Issue boils down to power on hills. I have a 4200 and am happy, however, it does lug a bit on hills. If you have anything other than flat property and can handle the additional size, I would recommend the 4310 over the 4210. Strongly recommend checking JD specific forum prior to a decision.

Re: Jeff and all...here is the latest from today...

Capper, Oh the fun of the hunt!!! It is/was a lot of fun for me. I would DEFINETLY wait to get you and the clan on the L3130 before going final. You will be happy either way because they are both excellent machines. I still think your JD dealer has some work to do on treating you right from a price perspective. I too have a 10 year old daughter(and a 7 year old as well) who loves Sponge Bob. With the $$'s the JD guy has left you could so a nice Audio/Video upgrade so everyone can see and hear Sponge Bob in HiFi. Good luck, have fun and keep us posted. Regards, jeff

Re: Murph..thats seat, not SEAR...

Capper,

I am not much on John Deere specs. If the 4210 is comparable to the L3130 then I think the $1500.00 more is worth it if you are comfortable with it. But if the L3130 is comparable with the 4310 then the L3130 is the better machince for the price. Based on what I have seen the 4210 is comparable to the L3130.

Some of the people are telling you to go up to the 4310 that you will be much happier with it???? The 4310 will handle the hills better and they are right. But how much better will they handle the hills is something you or me would probably not be able to tell the difference?? There is always a better tractor out there. In my case I made a mistake. I went with the 21 hp and found it plenty of horsepower but not stable enough. So I decided to trade back in for the 25 hp. Gee my dealer told me for $400 more I could go to the 29 hp which is what I did. But I could even go for the 33 hp for another $800.00. One has to drawn the line someplace and say enough is enough. There is not one person here that wouldn't be happier with "More Horsepower" But we all have pocket books and they all have ends to them.

The 4310 is $2,8888 over the Kubota
The 4310 is $1,323 over the 4210

So if the Kubota is equal to the 4310 then $2,880 is a lot of money
So if the Kubota is equal to the 4210 then $1,565.00 is a lot of money but for your comfort level I don't see a problem with it.

So what I am saying is don't make the same mistake I made by buying too small but don't let it get out of hand also. Also Lindsey probably would like orange also. Remember it won't make no difference, it will be "her" tractor anyway!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
