I have to say that I tend to agree. I do quite a bit on 10 acres with a B7300. I would like a larger tractor, mostly because I could handle a larger tiller and brush hog - and the backhoe makes the B7300 look awfully little. But the truth is that there isn't anything I've needed to do with it that it hasn't been able to handle (except some larger scale dirt moving, but I rent a bulldozer for that and would even if I had a larger tractor).
Not that I don't completely understand wanting a bigger tractor /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
BTW, I was also going to go green and had the same issue with price - simply couldn't justify the extra $$$...Chris

This has been a VERY informative thread for me, and it's good to see so many had the same concerns and goals I have for my tractor. Obviously, I would like a little bigger rig, but not so big it can't be used on the place, so here is where things stand.
I want to sit the L3130 when it comes in to McKeel the next week or so, then revisit the John Deere dealer, and tell him, if he can get his price more inline with the Kubota, he has a sale. I just got off the phone with someone from this thread that is going to have his 4310 delivered to Colorado this week, and I like the way his will be set up.
Ya'll are great, and thanks for all the info, facts, opinions...thats what its all about. This may be the most fun part of shopping a tractor....(now, if there was just a thread like this for horse trailors, 4 wheelers, and golf carts, I'd be set..this is going to be a multiunit purchase!)

Just can't sit here and read this without adding my 2 cents. 1st, the 0% from Kubota is free money. The only cost the dealer incurs is drawing up the paper work. No extra cash incentives, no splitting the difference, just print out a contract and take your free money. States may have a UCC fee which differs and your dealer may have a paperwork fee, but they don't grt any better price if you pay cash--take the money! Now for the tractors /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif: for everything you're doing other than stump pulling, hate to say it, but the B7800 would be a better choice, smaller, lighter and more manuverable(sp?). If you're looking for tough, take a good look at the loader and the way it attaches on the Kubota and the Deere, then look at the front axle and three point hitch. And I would go with those cool big new turfies that the Kubota dealer priced you--those are a sweet tire and your lawn will love you for it. Good Luck /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thing again (good info, but....)...I agree, the paperwork is the only cost differential (the paperwork costs on it is $180)....then, it's zero money, and no, I don't think I could get a better price than those listed on the B series or the L3130 (as those prices were quoted to me as cash and walk).
You may be right about the B being enough, but I just have to sit the L3130, and have still not ruled out the 4310 Deere....the Grand L should be on the lot in the next week or so, then, the decision has to be made...thanks for the input, Capper

Jeff and all...here is the latest from today...
Got back from a boys weekend of golf and casino'n at Tunica, recovered last night, then back on the tractor trail today. I took the wife and kids up the the JD dealer in Mayfield, and let them all drive the 4310 (yep, even my 10 year old daughter got to hit the pedals)...Now, its a closer horse race on this versus the L3130..
Here's the offer from my Deere dealer (who I liked, by the way, sang Sponge Bob Square Pants songs with my kids while he ciphered the pricing), I'd appreciate what any of ya'll with more experience think about this deal:
JD 4310, 4WD, with eHydro transmission, Mid PTO, 4520 Turf Tires, 27x8.5 and 41x14 wheels, 7010 Dual SVC's (should I ask for the third?) iMatch quick hitch, 60" deer MMM, and 420 bucket for the FEL....price $22,388 (List price for that would be $25,432). Or, I can get the exact same rig, in the 4310 for $21,065.
Its coming down to the wire, and I think I like the Deere more than the Kubota, but the Kubota is $19,500 pretty equally equiped, and the dealer is here in town versus 45 minutes away.
Ya'll thoughts are always appreciated, and thanks for making me a much more know-able buyer going into the shops to talk about the tractors (a special thanks to Jeff for his time in talking to me on the phone about his Deere!)
