Trying to construct a 3rd function

Thanks aerojunkie. I'm a long ways from my service. I'm not sure of the exact hours but I'd be surprised if it has 6 hours on it

Pin 1 is + and pin 2 is - in a DIN connector that you have.

The third pin is for ground. You don't need it.
In industrial settings, 12v control wiring (or 5v or 24v etc)....there is a + and - generated from a power supply. But still needs a separate ground.

On a car/truck/tractor....the - is the ground.

Hey Aerojunkie, how's the 3rd function working? Did you connect a grapple to it? If so, do you find that it the jaw opens and closes too fast?

I went with this valve and the same do3 sub plate your looking at

Only reason was it was able to handle a much larger flow and pigtails instead of a bulky connectors. I have been very happy with it for the past 6months, its a very good quality valve made in Europe. I also opened up the ports in my sub plate I wanted as little restriction as I could get since my power beyond circuit also runs my backhoe when I have it mounted and if there is a lot of restriction it will create much more heat.

One general question. As this is in the power beyond going from the loader control valve to the 3pt lift you used an open center valve (correct) so everything works including the 3pt when not in use. If I have a load on the 3 point, will activating the valve cause the 3pt to droop? Also where does the return flow form the double acting cylinder go? Also if I operate the loader controls and hit the switch to operate the hay grapple, will the loader functions be impacted? I am trying to wrap my head around this.

Think of it as just inserting a diverter valve in the power beyond line so everything will work as it did befor the valve was put in. All the valves are in series, loader has priorty next 3rd function then last 3pt hitch. When you have a load on the 3pt and you lift your loader It stays put because the 3pt valve shuts off unless it's moving. All return flow goes through the 3pt to tank. Hope that helps.

Update.......everything works! Took a little figuring out on the wiring part and getting a 12v line close by was a bit of a challenge but not bad for a couple evenings install time. Huge thank you to all that have helped me along the way........been researching and asking questions for a month. Considering what I saved, I dont regret it at all.
