Tractor News Tuff-bilt Tractors - Modernized Allis Chalmers Model G

Sure, that's your point. It's different than my point. That's fine. Some people will be very well served by the G. I wouldn't ever try to convince them otherwise.

Some people like the idea of buying a brand new machine. How many hours I've put on a G (0) has what exactly to do with this conversation? Unless either one of us has used both of them, we can't truly compare them. How many hours have you put on a Tuff-Bilt??...

I think it's tiresome that for some reason, you think yours is the only opinion that applies, while those of others doesn't matter. I don't see why you need to question my information about cost, which is accurate in my market, and ask how many hours I've used the G for, both of which matters are completely irrelevant to my point, which I've stated, restated, ABC t continue to stand by.

If you disagree with my point, which you haven't actually said, perhaps you should send the nice man at Tuff-Bilt an email and tell him about how much better the G is. Tell him you're going to help veggie farmers find them, put them into use, and service them. Tell him he'd might as well just shut up shop right now.

I guess I have a hard time thinking of electronics and hydraulic drive, as "simple".

My old "G" is MUCH more "simple" than that!

Rob, this is funny to me since in another thread that's current right now, you talk about how you love your Husqvarna 550xp. If I'm not mistaken, that's a chainsaw with... a computer in it. I find it hypocritical to be dismissive of this tractor because it's got "electronics" while embracing considerably more complex electronics in a chainsaw of all things.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm sorry if it bothers you.

Well, as always it's hard for a "brochure ninja" to understand how it's important to get some "experience" with the subject they "think" they are and "expert" in... lol

Do you think those Tug Bilts are the first hydro powered copy of an G? There's been several others, that I do have seat time in, along with my G. I stand by my last post...

The OP said,
The KISS PRINCIPLE (Keep it simple, stupid.) appeals to me in everything.
I agree, and pointed out the "G" is the simpler of the two. I'm surprised you missed that one... BTW, there's LOT'S of G's still making small veggie farmers, money around here, so that's proof that "KISS" works...

As for my auto tune chainsaw, (BTW, I have two) I guess you can't see the difference in owning a $500.00 piece of equipment that I don't have to depend on, VS and multi thousand dollar piece of equipment that I do ??? AND if you actually knew ANYTHING about the 550xp, you would also know how easily/cheep it is to make it back into an old carb style chainsaw...

SO, keep trying to put me down here, and I'll keep simplifying my answers for you, so you can understand them.

Rob, I'm not trying to put you down. I'm not a "brochure jockey". Furthermore, I'm not advocating one tractor over the other. I'm pretty sure I've made that clear.

If the entirety of your point is that a G is better, that's great. It doesn't bother me. If you want to argue with me and be rude just because I said that some people might like the Tuff-Bilt, so be it. That is bothersome to me, but there's nothing I can do about it.

Who says I don't know " ANYTHING " about a 550xp?

I still stand by my point. And, for the record, I agree with your point, that the G is simpler. I never disagreed with you about that. By arguing about price and trying to discount my opinion because I haven't used a G, you only cloud the water.

Also, was there somewhere where I claimed to be an expert in something??

Ventrac Tractor's parent corporation, Venture Products, is also parent to Tilmor Tractors.
I believe Ventrac/Tilmor has the business acumen, engineering acumen and financial resources to sustain Tilmor during a multi-year trial in the marketplace.

2,500 pounds (gas) to 2,700 pounds (Kubota diesel) bare tractor.
