I can get you 7 extra hp at no cost, with no effort and no work, heck, it'll even reduce your operating costs. OPEN YOUR WINDOWS AND TURN OFF YOUR A/C when working it hard up a hill. Rob a few hp for HST, 5-7 more for A/C and what do you expect from 40hp?
Also, who ever said it was probably right, you're not operating your HST properly, less is more. I just pulled an 8000# load 25 KM with the A/C on in high gear. My tractor isn't much bigger than yours and all in (tractor, load, trailer and extra attachments) I weighed in around 14,000 - 15,000#. The only thing you don't have enough power for is doing the work in high range, up a hill, wearing a winter jacket on the hottest summer day. If you need to grade the driveway that much faster, sell the tractor and by a grader.
