We sold an 1100 with a Kubota 6' snow plow up at the Grand Canyon. 7200'. Park Servis raised **** with our customer because of the black smoke. Tried adjusting the timeing and changing the air intake. Nothing helped. We then installed a turbo kit from Weidman's and it was like driving a different machine.Picked up a couple of MPH, but power and breathing, what a difference. the kit runs about 2K plus installation. takes almost a day start to finish.

Regardless of what you do, I cannot stress sufficiently that you NEED a high rise air intake...up high out of the dust trail. As shipped, dust directly enters the air filter thus requiring it to be cleaned very, very frequently. I installed a high rise kit and cleaning is now seldom necessary.

Not advisable.

The small diesel engines in most CUTs and similar equipment are producing approximately design constraint output. Significantly increasing the output will lead to premature engine and transmission failure.

I have the SWAG kit on my 2012 RTV 1100. I was very disappointed in the outcome for the first several months after the install. I followed the directions and called the folks at SWAG a few times for advice. After much tinkering and adjustment it's working better. Basically the kit will allow "H" to be used more of the time but it's not worth it in my expierience. The kit is well thought out and very complete. The install can be done in a day or so. Plan on using a bunch more fuel and keep your expectations in check. The install looks and sounds great but the kit's price, increased fuel useage and most importantly lack of a major performance change was a bit of a disapointment. All the best in your decision.

I was thinking of turboing mine but I read the reviews and they pretty much state what you said..there is a performance improvement in "H" and it's noticable but it doesn't appear to be worth the expense (to me) so far...Most people are happy with their turbo's though...Yours is the first complaint about fuel consumption that I've heard.

Would expect the people really getting results are the ones at altitude, like Denver or Salt Lake City and higher. The testimonials I read were from people running their RTVs at ski resorts which s where I would expect them to shine.

I've done a lot of work on D1105 engines which is what is in your 1100. Have about 6 of them here now. Not sure on room in your engine compartment but Kubota made a D1105T which is a turbo version of your engine. If you want you could look at the factory manifold and turbo setup and see if it will fit. They are in some Bobcat mini excavators.

We make CNC adapters that will allow you to put a good little Mitsubishi twin scroll turbo on a stock D1105T manifold. Yes there are piston and some other differences internally on the D1105T but we have found in a mild perfomance setup the non-turbo pistons hold up better than factory turbo pistons.
