Turboing my RTV 1100

in my humble opinion - I could be wrong here but there should be a disclaimer here . Running a turbo in a hydro driven transmission would not boost driving performance at sea levels which is somewhere around 80% of the america land. The relief in transmission is going to kick in at max pressure anyway from oil pump. First thing you do is ask yourself would a turbo help? yes if you are at higher land.

Thanks again for all of the feedback. The DYNO chart on the SWAG kit does show a great improvement in torque, looks like the hydrostat trans tapers the load once it starts moving tho as some of you have mentioned. I guess if I was grooming, had heavy implements or at high altitude this would be perfect. I see they have a transmission cooler as well. Maybe we can up the transmission pressure and use the cooler to keep the temps down and that would allow the power to hold more?

assuming the hydro trans can physically withstand higher pressure, which I'm sure it can to some degree, but maybe not too much...,
boy I would sure make a trans cooler mandatory. Just like a tow package on a truck. And you might want to dial down the boost to the 6-8 range from 8-10
as an economy setting of sorts. Would likely add to durability/longevity also.

I think most diesels were designed to be turboed at some point. What is worrisome about just dialing up the boost is a lack of integrated design, which is why I'd only
buy from someone around awhile, like Banks, because they know what will last and what will blow up. Because they've done both.

Lightweight engines don't have that old fashioned iron to soak up the heat. And heat is what you will get with more boost, so as long as improved cooling is built in,
rock and roll. Just don't play with the boost knob.... and don't keep the pedal floored at max boost for too long. Common sense and the laws of physics are nice to go by...

BTW, welcome to the forum. Lots of interests and knowledge here outside of tractors.

i would changed the camshaft look for a better flowing head add more fuel to it put a better a header on it a glass pack big intake manifold

I have the extra tranny cooler with a temp activated fan in the location where the muffler was located. The tranny is the problem, just can't put the power to the ground. It sure sounds cool.:)

I saw that cooler as an option with the kit. The guys at SWAG said even non turbo RTV 1100s are benefiting from them.

From what I have seen and read about the SWAG system, it looks like it is something that will be in my budget.
