TurboSaw on JD 4300

The TurboSaw is perfect for what I need done.. and just it's ability to saw off the stumps at ground level would worth it alone.
Pls don't fret about it.

As long as it's being operated by someone with common sense and a little training, I don't see how it could be any more dangerous than a chainsaw. At least with this thing you've got the ROPS on the tractor to hopefully deflect anything coming your way. I'd probably be groaning the HST in 3rd gear into the tree just so I could punch the forward pedal and exit in a hurry if I had to. Given the tree sizes you're talking about I double the ROPS would dent much if a tree hit them, the egg shell 4300 hood though would be a different story...

i.e. don't try to fall trees leaning toward the tractor.. not a hard one to figure out. ;)

I was concerned that the 4300 might not have the hp to run this saw blade.. but it handles it quite well. The HST is a must, IMO.

What is the PTO HP of your John Deere?

TractorData says Deere claims 25.5 PTO for the hydro..

So far this saw has performed well for me. Have taken many a small tree (12" diam, 35-40 ft tall spruce) and dead or soon-to-be-dead walnut up to 10" diam and spindly to 40'. Removing the walnut from a plantation on 10 x 10 spacing that some trees need thinned out to let the better ones grow.
This saw does for me what otherwise just wouldn't get done.. and the stump is at or just below ground level. Estimate over 150 stumps lowered and around 50-75 trees down. More to come when the leaves are off and the weather cools a bit.

I sincerely think that the hyd. top arm is an important feature to have for this turbosaw that doesn't have the hyd. grapple feature.

Thanks for the info!

Never seen one before. Carbide teeth I presume. Looks like a great gizmo for what you're using it for. Hydraulic Top Link would be a 'must' on any tractor.

Yes Spanner, carbide teeth. Can rotate them four times for a fresh cut face. Have not done that yet.

rigu .. you have the right stuff.

I have a 4300 tractor data's information is not accurate. PTO output is 28 horsepower. The newer 3 Series replacing the 43xx series is 25.5.
