Turf vs R4 Industrial tire

2-3 ft of snow and TURF tires? Really?

I'd take the R4s. I have them on my tractors and while not perfect in all conditions, they aren't horrible in any of them. I might do R1s were I to do it all over, but I certainly would not go with turfs unless lawncare was the principle use.

I would and did go with the turf tires. I've never had an issue with snow removal with them but I do have a smaller tractor.

Been blowing lots of snow for years with my 855 and turfs...:)

And since I'm getting old...I'm going to add a 3046R with a CAB and turfs to do my snow blowing this winter...:)
(No picture of the 3046R...YET...:) )

How old do I have to be to get that upgrade?

Turf tires get around noticeably better in the snow then R4s do, look at actual snow tires, they look like turfs, not R4s.

R4s perform better for loader work, that's about it, turfs hold there own in the mud also, R4s are a poor performer in mud.

BFJ, that just hasnr been my experience at all.

I can totally power out my 4410 in mud with turfs with just singles. If I install my duals the tractor is virtually unstoppable. Not all mud though. I've been in some really greasy stuff that the only way to move around was with the fel. Mostly an alkaline type mud.

Duel turfs? You gotta post pics lol

I had R1's and MultiTrac Turfs for my last tractor. I rarely used the R1's, even for loader work. When I ordered my 2032R, I thought R4's would be a good compromise. I hate them-rough riding, not all that impressive even for loader work, leave turf marks almost as bad as R1's, and are lousy in the snow. Next time I'll order turfs only. Your experience may vary.
