Turfs in the woods?

I'd go with the R4 tires, turf tires are called turf tires for a reason, and that is they are designed for use on grassy areas. Using the tractor in the woods and on trails the R4 will serve you best.

I'm looking at a small tractor, and am considering turf tires for all around use. I'm working on my trails in the woods, and though there aren't the obstacles there that there might be if I were just going through the woods, there still is some stubble from weedwhacking 1/2"-2" saplings, etc. I'm worried that the turfs won't be tough enough......... does everyone agree? Should I follow my gut, and have them order the r-4's though it means waiting?
Thanks for your help!

I have turfs on my tractor. I do a lot of woods work and I am very happy with them. In muddy conditions, they do tend to grease up and can slip, but, the 4wd always seems to come through for me.

As far as traction goes, I would think that turfs would be a lot easier to chain up if necessary. Years ago on the farm we had some really good logging chains to use on our loaded r-1's, but they were a bear to get on right.
