Bo,

Where are you getting a hundred bucks from? I just did a price check and it was over 250.00.

I need to be educated.

I have looked at that, but I am concerned about not being able to "snug" up the swaybars with the backhoe.

GregJ,

No turnbuckles on my B2910 and my Kubota 3PH backhoe seems to be fine with the setup... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's the link to the parts I used and picked up last July. This is for a B7500 but I'm thinkin' it should work since the parts listed are for whatever has the telescoping links, B2400/2700.

As far as tight, you can get things pretty tight and they do sell 3pt backhoes for the tractors the swaybars are standard on.

I got a little education about swaybar tightness yesterday. I found out that I should NOT snug the turnbuckles up tight. In fact, this is what caused their failure. If they are too tight and you raise the 3pt., it puts a tremendous amount of strain on the threads because the top link is not parallel with the bottom links. It needs a little room to travel. This failure was probably caused when I had an implement other than my BH on with the turnbuckles "snugged up" and raised it all the way up. Oh well, I guess this shows you can learn something new everyday..... especially when you start with zero knowledge.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

Bo, thanks for posting the link for telescoping parts again. Unfortunately I already have the turnbuckle sway bars on the way. If they fail again, I'm definitely looking at telescoping.

Yep,

I usually lift a little when the implement is on. Then tighten the turnbuckle all the way, backing it out a rotation or two after the implement is all the way up. Just a little sway, not tight, not super tight.

I think what got me on the blade, was backing into a snow drift at speed this winter...... Oh, winter ain't over yet!

Well, after thinking about this all day....(That can be very painful... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) I called my dealer and talked to him about the idea of changing to telescoping swaybars. They had never done it, but I supplied them with part numbers (Thanks Bo /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) and a picture (Thanks Chim /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) and he was able to order the parts. Of course as soon as I hung up the phone, the dreaded "Buyer's Remorse" set in. The little voices started saying ...."But those parts weren't designed for that model tractor".... "Is there going to be any conflict with my 4672 BH" ..... " What if I tighten these too tight, will it break something?" ...... Voices, voices, voices..... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Dang, this should be simple. Anyway, from what I've read, everybody that's done this has been really pleased.

My question is .... Has anybody made this modification and had any problems, or is it as good as it sounds? Help me out here folks.... I want to sleep tonight.

Bah!

I see those guys and gals with BIGGER smiles are the ones with telescoping links.

You may hear voices, but your back ain't gonna ache no more trying to line that stuff up!

I want to know also. I'm going to do the same thing if it works out for you (B7500).

Greg,
I switched out the buckles for the scopes and have not had a problem at all. It will take a bit of practice to make sure that the scopes are tight enough but that doesn't take long.
Enjoy the upgrade!
