My problem is, my machine really is perfect sized for my three acres of rock.

Don't let him bully you into a new tractor. Instead, bring your trailer to the cookout and take home a bunch of nice new implements. Maybe you can leave the boss at home and have the miniboss help you choose which ones. :)

The miniboss does like tractors.

I know there is a lake somewhere near Rick's place. The miniboss loves to go swimming, I think a visit to the lake maybe the clincher.

It's working..... IT'S WORKING!!

I'm sure the miniboss will point out that your Kiotihauler has plenty of room for a new tractor AND implements.

Hmmm, and I imagine Rick could whip up a jump seat for the cab! I'll be sure to urge your miniboss to ask him about it!!:D:D:D

No matter how pursuasive Deputy is, I will not be bullied, although he'll keep trying (no fun without it). Although the new tractors are tempting, with how things are going right now there'll be no extra spending going on for some time. Really feeling the pinch of the economy, we are battening down the hatches and saving every penny right now. I can see some very tough times in the not so distant future.

We've been good about spending, but always room to be better.

Getting a little scary out there.

Hoping to at least be able to get an implement this year, but not sure, man the college nut is a biggy and we are working hard to save now, not sure how much we'll be able to save in the future.

In all seriousness, I'm feeling the pinch too. With the above statements coming from a CPA, it's all the of reason to take this economic quagmire seriously.

Not only is saving for college going to be difficult - trying to divine the future cost of higher education itself is tough. Hopefully that cost will correct as a reflection of the people's willingness to pay, and not their ability to borrow. Funny how the people are reactively following the Austrian economic philosophy, rather than the Keynesian philosophy the government is pushing....

Uh oh....I hope I didn't cross the forum ethics line....

Besides the increasing national debt load (thanks W), the biggest issue right now is actually that we, the consumers, are holding back. Understandable given the uncertainty but that reluctance to spend is precisely what is driving the economy further down. It is a vicious cycle. I say we hang a few bankers, feel good about it and then get back to normal.;)

We have to hold back because what we thought was real equity was virtual, and vanished in the real estate/banking collapse. The problem is that we are a consumer-driven economy that had used debt against virtual equity, rather than savings, for our capital. It is a vicious cycle, or rather a downward spiral, until we return to a savings-based economy. Unless you have your hands on it, it may not exist. People learned the hard way, and are reacting.

The scary thing is that during the Great Depression era, we had no government (taxpayer) debt, no personal credit, very few mortgages, and were a manufacturing powerhouse. None of that applies today, and perpetuating debt and spending can no longer be an viable solution.

LOL, if it were only that simple.

Seems like there is a bunch more sorting out to be done.

I guess the flip side is, when the recovery does come should be a long steady upside...... at least hoping so.

I agree, I think there is a high likelihood we'll see education costs and the like correct along with everything else. For example, I've told the boss to speak with the minibosses activity leaders and ask when we'll see a reduction in price for dance, tumble, acting class, etc. Like anything else, there's gotta be trickle down.

We are getting letters at work from customers looking for discounts, revised payment terms, etc. No different on the home front.
