I’ve started watching that also.WWII in color on Netflix, a VERY good reminder to watch for what sacrifices has been done to have what we have today just 80 years ago.

I bought my first new TV in 2005... just before everything went digital so that I can't get anything here without paying for it. I used to stay in motels occasionally and watched it some there, but the commercial breaks got so ridiculous that I would lose interest. I tried to watch some movie which was supposed to be a classic... in the first 13 minutes there was about 5 minutes of show, the rest of it was all commercials.I can't imagine paying for the privilege of watching them. In the last 6 years the only time I've watched is when visiting my mother.Believe it or not but in May of 2010 I eliminated TV from my home. I do not own a TV, I gave them away. My life is so much better. But I do miss NASCAR, lol. When I am in a friend’s house and the tv is on, it is just plain annoying to me. I wanna say turn that s@#$ off !!!!
Do you have to fast-forward through the commercials? I’ve never used a DVR so curious.I use a OTA DVR and don't watch the commercials.
We use DISH network. 30sec forward and 10sec back. Easy to skip ahead to miss the commercials. Also nice if you didn't see or didn't hear what was shown/said, to pop backwards. Most media players will have a forward reverse button where you can skip or rewind. My tv has that for the USB port, every time you press the button gives like 10 seconds forward or back.
