I read about this one guy who had a problem with his new Rhino mower one time....I'd never buy Rhino :)
Lol, Never any shortage of drama here. It was the blade that broke, and based on the looks of the other one, with good reason. The dealer set the tail wheel to the third hole and I didn't know better than to change it: now it's on hole # 5, roughly 2" higher.

This is what I have.

Blades.

Gearbox shaft. The hub is pretty massive so I wan't worried about burning a seal. Since there is a cotter pin to lock the nut I coated the splines with Nev'r Sieze.

All good now and spent 3-4 hours mowing.

It looks like all is good now. Where did you purchase the blades from?

After all that work I hope you put a little Never Seez on the bolts. That way next time they will come off. I do this even on a new machine that some day down the road will have to come off.

Busted off another blade on a huge rock. It broke right at the mounting bolt hole, after four hours of heavy cutting. So this time I'm ordering a pair! Blade was $37.24 each. Parts manual.

Fortunately we have one of those DR Power walk behind Field and Brush Cutters (14hp) to finish up. I have spare blades for it - so they never break!

Did use Nevr Seez but this one should be easy, just the nut for the blades. The bolt is keyed.

Went to change the blade, forgot I didn't have the 1 5/8" socket! Have to get one tomorrow.

This time I bought two blades so we'll have a spare. Changing them is pretty easy.

Found the portion of the blade. Hit a rock with a vertical ridge, perfectly designed to destroy things.

LP's Manuals (free download from them) recommend you weigh each blade and grind off some on the heaviest. I have RCR 1548. Their weight tolerance is no more than 1.5 OZ difference to prevent vibration. Due to the visible wear on the other blade there is going to be an imbalance with the new one. I always change both together. Yes, they are a real bear to disassemble. The bolt/nut is 1 1/8"/12. Mine takes a 2 9/16" socket to remove the nut, the bolt does not turn. The manual has a number of items to check when reassembling so you should read it. The old saying "when everything else fails, read the book" certainly applies; like always replace the nuts as they are self locking type. Shear bolts are 1/2" Grade 2. I have never replaced one and have hit a lot of stuff that almost stalls the engine.

Mine has the Spring clutch instead of shear bolts. So far so good. I'll bring up a postal scale, I am changing both this time.

Gotta go measure that nut because the sockets are like $20!

Well, socket is not 1 5/8, it's bigger....

Blades weigh with 0.5 ounce of each other , though.
