I suppose we all post too much online, but I try to not post my full name, birth date, SS number, address, age or other identifier. However, I know there are those clever enough to find out details of my life, and have been so reminded at least once...and I'm not on Facebook!

Yep. Have had several folks make references about me regarding things I have never posted.

I bet when she had a lot of applications if it didn't work out. When I went on TBN over ten years ago I was pretty trusting and naïve about things. I see that a few of us have used our names and city where we are located at. I have never had any trouble. (don't know if I would do it now) And I think 99.9% of the guys one here are not on here to cause trouble with any one. I avoid contiversal subjects and now probably wouldn't give my name and address and just choose a pen name. And the guys like Eddie Walker and Moss that use their names , makes it personal and if you are ever in my area, Look me up as the shop is always open and we will have a cup of coffee. A lot of great guys on here.

I read one thread she was on, but not I guess I missed that thread? I’ve been surprised at what online folks knew about me, but I really don’t care much. I live a pretty boring life, but that’s how I like it.

Yep, lot of scams on internet. But once in a while you can get lucky like I did; in just a few short days I'll be rich when a check arrives from a Nigerian Prince who needs some help cashing it and will reward me generously. :cool2:

There's NOTHING personal about personal identity. For $1.99 you can find out just about anything about anybody, i.e. name, address, phone numbers, email address, salary, how much they owe, value of their properties, names of all kinfolks and neighbors, criminal record(s).

That's not of consequence to most of us though - after all, why would we particularly care? I'm pretty easy to find - heck, I'm in the phone book. Searching out that kind of information is reserved for the very nosy or those that have nothing else to do. Just don't start jacking around my bank accounts though! You'll 'find me' a lot quicker than you could imagine.
