Questions about my dash.
I have no temp gauge, should I?
All my idiot lights come on when I cycle the key, but none ever come on during operation. Glow plugs at start up, pto, 4 wheel drive, anything else that might come on during operation.
No speedometer.
No forward reverse indicator.

Some TYMs had temp gauges while others didn’t. Don’t know why or when. But if it was me, I would be adding a aftermarket mechanical temp gauge.

I asked the dealer about that last week
He said even the new ones don’t have a temp gauge.
Guess they figure we are not really going to work our tractor.
Adding one won’t be easy unless you put a pipe in your radiator hose. No port to be found on motor.
My speed sensor went out about 700hours the F and R still working
Probably a sensor.
I just live with that.
Right now I have bigger problems.
Contact your dealership about the speed sensor and let us know how that goes

I mentioned it to the dealer, they said everything was normal.
Do you guys have glow plug lights that come on?
4 wheel drive indicator lights?

I find that a visible temp gauge is a necessity especially when I am mowing fields that will clog my radiator with chafe
I eye that gauge at least once or twice a minute
I’ve overheated a few times and it goes from ok to overheated very fast
If it where me I would find some way to install a temp gauge

I have glow plug lights on my 574. I'd have to look again to tell you what else is there. They come on briefly at startup and that's it.

I'll overheat before the tractor does...

I'm not earning a living with mine, though.

I think I found a solution to the temp gauge. Hank Hamilton (you tube) did a clip where he installed an electrical temp gauge. I've got the parts on order. Will report back when I get it installed. Looked like a nice clean install.

Sounds good. I'll be waiting to see and hear the results of the add-on gauge. It's good to have a visible gauge for temperature. Like Willman said, my gauge stays low mostly - but when it decides to climb it does it "right now"!

Done. Now I have engine temp and % of load. It's sounding like loading a diesel is more important than high rpm. This plugs into a factory plug that I expect is for OBD.
