UDT vs. Super UDT

Please excuse my bad mood post above.
Oil is our tractor's life blood, and we all have large investments in these toys...err, tools.
There's a lot of info in the Oil, Fuel & Lubes forum from folks with far more subject matter expertise than I have.

( Just to add to the confusion. I live in Australia and I can not buy SUDT, only UDT from my Kubota dealer. )

Funny, my local dealer didn't know what I was talking about when I asked for SUDT. All they had was the regular stuff. Worked just fine in -20C during that winter, mind you I don't have hydraulics, other than the HST and 3ph.

From one wrench to another this scares me, when It is speced out in the manual for many machines and is the factory fill from Kubota.

Maybe the sales people are not on the ball???

If the Technicians in the back have been to any of the Kubota schools they sure know what it is.

My question is can SUDT and Regular UDT be mixed??
Lets's say you run low on fluid and all you have on hand is regular UDT but your BX2230 is full of SUDT...

What to do?? anyone know???

I just traded in a B7500 for a L2800 and for 350 hrs I used Mystik Jt5 in the B7500 with "0" problems.
If it's compatiable then it will work.

Yes, It can. it would be like adding 15-40to your engine when it has been running with 10-40.

Now, I have alwayw herd your not supposed to mix different weights of oil. If you have 10-40 you should top of with 10-40. Was this the urban legion thing??????

On my 50Hr 1st Oil change the dealer put it to me like this.
"You can use udt if you want to. but if something goes wrong before warrenty runs out, they may not honor it. So, which one do you want?"
My reply, "I'll take the super UDT please."

After reading a bunch and doing some research (just type in Super UDT in search engine) I'll just spend the extra 4 bucks a gallon and use the Super. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would have told the dealer really, then Kubota will put the Super UDT in for free right? If they require Super UDT specifically and not an equivalent, then they need to provide it. Warranty law is very specific about that. I ran into this on a GMC Yukon that dropped a ring and they said no to the warranty since I had a super chrager on it. Well five over trucks were in for the same repair but they singled me out. One letter from the lawyer asking them to explain their position and technically prove how the super charger caused the failure solved it all.

Regardless, I'd still use the Super UDT or something better, but they can't refuse warranty if you didn't.
