UDT vs Super UDT2, WIX vs Kub Hyd Filter

Second, pulled the hyd filters off and notice right away something is different from the Wix, the Kubota filter has magnets on top of the filter and they are full of metal curls from manufacturing. Checked the wix filter and the magnets will not fit, did not like the idea of not having the magnets based on the metal on the ones I removed.

Gotta love filter discussions. There was a thread just a few days ago about guys claiming absolute certainty that Wix is just as good as anything out there!

FYI... the tractors some with SUDT2 from the factory, not UDT.

They may come from the factory with SUDT2 but mine came from the dealer with UDT. It had sat on the lot for 2 years (had about 10 hours from test drives), so I asked them to change all the filters and engine oil. They pulled the the hyd filters off and dumped about 5 gal of oil on the shop floor, then pulled the trans filter off and dumped another gal or two on the floor (the little 8 quart pan under the tractor was not even close). They had UDT in stock and since the OM stated it was acceptable, I told them they could use it is they finished draining the rest of the oil since they had dumped over half anyway.

Which AMSOIL Hydraulic fluid did you use? I would like to change mine over to synthetic. I am not seeing anything specific for HST on their web site.

SUDT2 really shines in the cold. If you live in a colder region & use it to plow or what not in the winter, go with SUDT2. It also supposedly quiets down a HST a bit.

If you have a gear tranny & warm weather you can probably save a few bucks getting UDT with little difference.

AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil SAE 5W-30

Which AMSOIL Hydraulic fluid did you use? I would like to change mine over to synthetic. I am not seeing anything specific for HST on their web site.
