It's a trap for flying insects that are attracted to yellow. They enter at the bottom, go up the cone and are then trapped in the clear plastic covering. Using different colors of cone will attract different insects.

eg. A Royal Purple cone would attract the Tetse [ spelling] Fly of Africa.

But then again it may be a minnow trap so Nomad can bait his fishhook.

Egon, yes, there are holes at the bottom and the top of cone is truncated. So, you must be knowledgable, perhaps experienced with that object. But, attraction by the color? Is this another joke of yours? I thought some sweety things like sugar was placed between the cone and the clear plastic and flying insects were trapped by the odor of that sweety thing. If you aren't joking, this color thing is interesting.

JazzDad, don't whine - take wine c(_).
Ps: I wish I had a 19th. wine now.

There it is! I've been looking all over my shop for that thing! How did you get it?

Nomad,

I believe what you have is an inverted cone, fly trap. You place liquid yeast bait in the bottom of the trap and a fly will fly up through the bottom of the cone and crawl into the trap chamber where it dies from dehydration. A 12 Ga shotgun trap is more fun.

Errr.....how many shots does it take to hit a fly with a shotgun? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
