They put rocket launchers on a side-by-side: with a 50 yard remote control they arent near them if the enemy strikes back immediately, so if they do, they have lost only a cheap vehicle while the trained operator comes back to base with one of the others.Why not? Pickups are cheap, part supply is excellent and it's easy to get people to service them. It's not so long ago that all army's used light and unarmed vehicles.
After all, wars are won by inflicting more losses (either capital or manpower) to the enemy than he is able to replace, while being able to replenish your own losses.
So, loosing a 100.000 dollar four wheeler with a rocket launcher on top, operated from a safe distance, to take out an 800.000 dollar tank with a crew of three, is a great battle result, it drains enemy resources much faster than your own, and when a war lasts longer than a few months, thats how wars are won.
