With the new TBN format, I can no longer post with Internet Explorer. I get a message saying " user name is too short". What does that mean? I can post using Netscape. Any suggestions? Tried contacting TBN by e-mail but no reply.

To which address or which method? We usually reply within a day to all support e-mails...

Muhammad;
Tried e-mail address: contact@tractorbynet.com The error message is "username is not the proper length". Any suggestions? I have never had a problem until the new format using Internet explorer.

What verson of IE are you on? They are up to 5.5 SP 2 now, and also beta version of 6.0 is out.

You should be at least on 5.5, to make sure it is not an incompatibility issue.

1. When you email, what application are you using?

2. Are you using a browser (like IE) to access a web-based mail app (e.g yahoo)? (sounds like it from your description, just want confirmation)

3. When you send the email, does it fail before it sends the email, or is the failure sent back to you as an email message?

I'm using 6.0.2600; didn't know it was a "beta" version.

Bird,

Uh, I guess maybe it is now an open release. I am not sure ANY of MS products get EVER out of BETA!!!!!!

I have been using IE 6.x, and like it, except I had to tweak the "privacy" settings which were too restrictive for many sites in the default setting.

I am using IE version 6. E-mail is through local service provider Alltel. When I send the e-mail, the message seems to fail before it sends the e-mail the message is immediate. Nothing has been changed on my computer in the past 3-4 months. Only TBN has changed. No problems when use netscape. I am not a computer whiz, but I keep believing the problem should be simple.

You need to go into internet explorers hidden settings and uncheck all these boxes.

Radman,

Well, even though you haven't changed anything, somethings has obviously changed. I'm also using IE 6 (6.0.26 actually), and it's all fine. A lot of other people are using it successfully on TBN as well, so I think that's a false clue.

It sounds like your posts are getting truncated. It may be as simple as re-installing IE. This is a typical type of problem with M$ Software.
