tgello,
Congratulations on your Uncle Hood. I would think it rather appropriate to get the little guy a shiny scale model tractor instead of a boring old furry teddy bear. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
You can't ever start em to young. The TBN must live long and prosper.

Congrats. I have twelve nieces and nephews to my clan. Thank god only one is my god daughter keeps my wallet with some green in it, well not much, but some.

Good luck and watch the fun unfold.

Congrats Uncle, the first time you hear him call you Uncle will be awesome, thats the way I felt when my Niece and Nephews called me Uncle for the first time./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Congratulations on being a new uncle. If you're really lucky, your nephew lives close by. Being an uncle (or aunt/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) is almost as good as being a grandparent. You can have fun with them, you can spoil them rotten, and then you get to send them back to their parents! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Congrats on the big event! I'm missing out. I have a sister but no nieces or nephews and none coming. Not a Dad either and won't be. I'm so lonesome/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. Oh yeah, there's the wife./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Well thanks Garry! I guess I hadn't thought about it. I have a zillion friends and they all love tractors as much as I do. What a coincidence!

Congratulations! Aaah, to remember what it was like to be young; now we have so many nieces and nephews, I barely know all of them; just got an invitation to one niece's 25th wedding anniversary celebration!

wow, now thats getting old....ha ha ha...tgello one question i have always wondered. i noticed your a retired law officer and was wondering where the word "cop" came from...tgello

wondering where the word "cop" came from

If you find out, let me know./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Some have claimed it came from the abbreviation for Constable On Patrol from England. Others have said it originated from the copper bottons on the uniforms. One definition in the dictionary for the word cop is "take away, catch, capture." And I suppose there's been a few other theories. I have no idea whether any of them are right.

I do know that when I started in law enforcement, most of the officers considered it a derogatory slang word, and it really teed them off to be called a cop. I suppose some still do feel that way, but I think that attitude has changed quite a bit. At least a lot of us referred to ourselves and our comrades as cops./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
