Traction understanding 3320 hydro, ehydro, 12 forward, 12 backward

I have a JD2520 with a hydrostatic transmission, it offers two speeds-Hi-Lo with forward and reverse dependent upon which pedal is pushed.

How does the 3320 or the 3520 work? Are these 2wd and go to 4wd when manually switched or does the tractor decide?

They eHydro 3320 and 3520 work exactly the same as your 2520 only they have low medium and high range instead of low and high range.

Just like your 2520 the 4wd is engaged with a lever. The 3x20 Power Reverser has a manual transmission with 4 gears in 3 ranges, hence 12 speeds in forward and reverse. Reverse is not a separate gear - the tractor has a forward and backward lever that is also a hydraulic clutch so you don't actually have to use the foot clutch most of the time.
