I am a little disappointed in this forum. In that so far none of the Kioti owners have given any likes and dislikes of thier respective machines. I didn't come here to start a match over yours is bigger than mine.

You asked about a DK55 specifically and at this point there are not that many DK55 owners on the site, although there are a few. There are some DK45S owners which are shuttle shift models. Perhaps they are a better source of information for since the 45s is as close to the DK55 as you may get if you need info right NOW. That said, what else can be said about shuttle shift. It is, what it is.

Now if you have other specific question about Kioti's that owners in general can help you answer, than ask away. Do you want to know about dealer support, quality, HST in generel, etc? Most of us can help you in the aspect.

I only respond this way because you've come into the Kioti forum asking a specific questions, about a specific model, that there are not a lot of out there, and then seem to get upset because the flood gates of information haven't opened up for you RIGHT AWAY, and say how you are disappointed in OUR forum. I'm sure if I go over the Kubota forum and ask questions about the M8540 or M125X I'm sure to only get a few responses.

Just as you said, not trying to give you a hard time but we are quite proud of our forum and it serves our purpose. Sorry if it does not live up to other peoples standards. Everyone will try to help but we only have the resources of the owners/dealers on TBN. Pehaps you should go visit a dealer and check out a DK55. You never know you may become the resident TBN DK55 specialists.;)

I guess I should start again with a new question. Any of you people that have a DK model can you tell me some of your likes and dislikes as far as operator comfort and ease of operation? I would like to know on both cab and non cab models. I know that I can go to a dealer and drive one around the yard but that is not like the years of expenerence that is in here.

I'm the owner of a 3 year old DK35 with 700 hours. I use it for field and woods work and it's been worked hard for long stretches. The tractor has never failed to do what I've asked it to do.

The only problem I've had with it was a broken seat which the dealer replaced without question.

:) I think we can help you with that. Oleozz (DK45S) and Island tractor (DK40SE HST) would both be good owners to weigh in here. Both seem to have work their tractors hard. Oleozz, who I am sure will expand on his experience, has done some "real" tillage with his. IT had done some big time land reclamation with a large grapple and move some HUGE rocks and as far as I know neither machine as skipped a beat.

As far as my experience with my DK45SE HST, I have been happy with it. I have had no problems outside of the minor replacing a bolt here or there that has backed out or lubing a sticky joint. I have used it to move upwards of 100tons of gravel/aggregate, cleaned stalls, moved round bales, extended my driveway, moved snow, pushed over trees, etc. As of last night I have 199hrs. My only complaint is my dealer takes WAY too long to do any type of service if I need them. I live on the edge of farm country and the suburbs where weed eaters and leaf blowers are just as important as big JD's and Massey Fergussons so they get priority at the dealership most of the time. I see you are in New York which means I would deal with no other than Rick Wallace, period. I am in Virginia and I still like to deal with Rick.

You can check my link in my sig to see some of what I have used mine for . . . hope that helps.

I have a 2003 DK65C that I bought new.

I posted some comments about it on this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-buying-pricing/122859-great-deal-dk65.html

I don't know much about farm machines, but the Kioti's seem to me to be well built and I would buy another one. I use my it to grade out roads, bush hog about 20 acres, bush hog a couple of miles of trails in the forest and for some land and trail clearing also.

Whoa, horses, reign 'em in.

I think Deerlope knows what he is talking about.

Consider the static equilibrium of the transmission subjected to the body force vector of the work he is performing. Applying Newton's first law of motion results in a set of differential equations which govern the stress distribution within the HST transmission and when performing ground engagement work, it will produce more heat and lead to a quicker breakdown of the fluid. Where Gear transmission (unless you're clutching the entire time) won't have the same static equilibrium to the body force vector as it will be more evenly distributed though the entire driveline. IMO

I think that is where Deerlope was coming from, however I am no expert and maybe I am wrong that it's not better to have a gear transmission when doing heavy ground engagement work or when wanting to 'lug down' one's tractor.

I never said that someone thinks their HST Kubota was better than someone elses Gear Kioti, so in retrospect I degrees, maybe the only way to figure this out is to hook them up end to end and let the victor be known.

Please forgive any statements that may seem offensive as I am simply having a bad day and wanted to be a Smart arse for a post or two. My regularly scheduled programming will resume shortly. :D

Have a nice day!

I have a DK 35 with 1100+ hours.
I've used my DK for everything from clearing my overgrown property, landscaping, building my driveways/parking lot, installing all my utilities and drainage pipes, to mowing the lawn and field.
Very nice machine. Its been good.
