Right after I purchased my tractor (last fall), I bought a couple of 5 gallon containers as well as two 15 gallon ones for fuel. The smaller containers worked well over the winter since we didn't get too much snow. Now that spring has arrived, I am using more fuel and thought I'd start using the 15 gallon containers in order to reduce the trips to the filling station. However, it occurred to me that a 15 gallon container of diesel fuel would weigh about 110 pounds, just a little too much to lift down from the back of the pickup, even though the containers have handle on the top. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Any recommendations?

Well, you can pump it...or rig a system up like Harv did. His system uses pulleys and such to take the weight. About all he does is direct the flow.
That thread is in this forum somewhere...

You have a loader on your tractor, don't you? Lay the container on it's side and roll it into the bucket. Just watch the tooth bar! Most containers can take a lot of abuse. I've unloaded 55 gallon drums by laying them down and kicking them off the back of the truck. I realize thats not the recommended method but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

Stick with the 5 gallon containers. 5 gallons must last 10hrs on your TC25. Are you really getting that much seat time?

I've used 2 5 gallon diesel cans for years with my L3710 which burns slightly less than a gallon an hour. The fuel is always fresh and it's conditioned in the winter at the pump.

I get my fuel at the local gas station 55 gallons at a time. I just tip the drum on its side and roll it in the bucket of the FEL. A little bit leaks out, probably less than a pint.

Not if you tighten the bungs. Of course it depends on how rusty and dented up the fittings are, also. If it leaks a little, work faster! :)
