Renze, you an artist in aluminum. Beautiful trailer!

jayhaitch its a galvanised steel trailer actually ;)

Mostly, when building custom trailers there are too much risks involved in aluminium trailers, as it has fatigue problems. With different trailers every time, it's hard to predict where the main fatigue stress point will be.
Quality aluminium (high fatigue resistance) is too pricey for most customers, and most folks can break anything no matter how strong you build it. So it needs welding during its life. Re-welding cracked aluminium is a pain.

The sideboards you see on that trailer, are aluminium though.

Good point about aluminum. I lucked into making the right choice by deciding on a tandem axle aluminum trailer. My GC2310 weighs 2650 lbs, now with an additional 230 lb MMM. That, plus the trailer weight put me over the GVWR of a single axle trailer, usually 3500 lbs here, so I went with a tandem, 7000 lb GVWR. I wanted surge not electric brakes, so the surge coupler downgraded the rating to 5000 lbs, but it still gives me a nice safety margin, and allows hauling dirt/sand etc without worry. I'll be storing the trailer outside, which is what clinched my decision on aluminum. Too much work repainted/sandblasting/scraping rusty steel trailers.

So,Renze, let me correct myself. You are the Guru of Galvanized :)
