Mice had eating on my Kubota L3600 wiring. I got the wiring diagram from Kubota online and my mechanical manual and order the wire that the mice ate. I wire back the tractor and we are running.

Called my local Kubota dealer and they told me they do not sell the connectors separately, so I’d have to buy the whole harness. That costs $748.00c and that dog doesn’t hunt.

After further examination, the wires seem to go into a black tube. I do not think these are reusable. If someone is for sure that they are, I’m all eyes & ears. Mine is a 96-97 M5400S.

Worst case scenario, i could just cut off the connectors that go to the lights, and wire nut them together. Does anyone know if that’s ok to do, or do the connectors serve a purpose besides relaying current from battery?

Also, i check all the fuses and they are fine.

thank you

Thx ET

Each wire is individually insulated, then wrapped in electrical tape, at least towards the end. It’s then in Blk flex tubing

there’s a total of 6 wires: 2 Blk & 4 orange. So, 1 Blk & 2 orange for ea light.

They do not seem to be bundled in pairs. The Blk wire is the easy part. How do i tell which orange goes where? I know 2 orange per connector, but which one goes to what connector? Assuming it doesn’t matter on which side of the connector as long as it’s paired w the right connector, correct? Would pairing them incorrectly cause any damage to either the lights, battery or anything else? Damn mice!!

PS / i guess i could just wire nut them together, or do the connectors serve as something else besides the obvious?

Do you have the wiring diagram for your unit. I found a Kubota diagram showing the 3 wire connector. However wires are Orange, brown, and black. Looking at your first picture, wires on fender, it looks to me as orange, brown or different shade of orange and black.

So the orange wire hanging down goes to the lower left terminal. The orange or off orange color wire on right sticking up goes to the top left terminal. Then black to black.

Im guessing the 2 red and black coming from the bottom are the power feed. The wires on the fender go to headlamps. I could be wrong on this.

Check the wire color on your headlamp connection. Some wire testing may be necessary. You don’t want to wire things incorrectly

Hope this helps.

Also look at the chew marks on the wires. Sometimes the chew pattern will identify where it connects. Tractor Forensics.

Splice wires around eaten connector? Are you ever going to disconnect the lights?.... Cut back to you find good wire and use butt connector and crimp tool.. Color match wires....

I got the parts number on the Kubota diagram and looking up on the internet the parts, and ordered from them. The Kubota wants a arm and leg for their parts. I got my parts about half to 3/4 different from Kubota. Took a little time but saved a lot.

Mike, did you find the connectors that go to the harness? Thx

If not, I’ll prob cut off the connectors that go to the light and just connect them as Wrangler has suggested.

When finished, I’m going to spray mint oil inside hood area. This has worked for a local old timer for 36 yrs..

Thanks again ET.

You are correct. I pulled the 6 wire out of the flex tubing and cleaned them w some 409…then the colors emerged.

i went further up the wiring harness and see where there’s a splice. From there I can insert Blk, Orange & Beige into the proper slots, that is, if i can find the connector?

Here’s a much better pic of the wiring after i cleaned them

Thanks again for your help & followup!

Called Messicks and they too only sell the harness, no connectors by themselves
