Blu 82, the Kubota and the New Holland are great tractors in their own right. All have similar qualities, except weight, if you are going to be doing ground engaging work, keep this in mind. I know that when I was looking, the Kubota salesman said that they could add weight to get it as heavy as the Mahindra and my response was ok, but what if you add weight to the Mahindra. He stopped there. And of course if you do not plan on a lot of dirt work, then the weight factor is a lot smaller factor in your decision.;)

Here are the prices that I paid back in Dec 04.

7520 4x4 tractor with jerry can front weights and rear wheel weights, 2 rear remotes.----------------------------------------------------$23,000
ML275 loader,QA 84"bucket.----------------------------------------$5,600
Hydraulic self leveling loader option.---------------------------------- $986
Grill guard. ----------------------------------------------------------$200
Fiberglass canopy ---------------------------------------------------$400
60"wide QA pallet forks ----------------------------------------------$750
Midwest Rb40-96 6 way rear blade -----------------------------------$926
Hydraulic Top & Tilt -------------------------------------------------$626
Land Pride Pd35 post hole digger ----------------------------------- $1495
6,9,12,18,& 24 inch augers all with replaceable cutting edges --------$1676
81" root grapple with Mahindra One Touch control -------------------$2411

Hopefully this information will be helpful to you and others, good luck with your decision.:)

Now I have to ask...

Is the paint spread between the implements that were painted just included in the cost of the tractor? :)

Dargo, this is what is so great about TBN, different points of view. Everybody's needs are different and that shows in the posts.

I would like to know what you feel is inexpensive though regarding add on weight. I have $1527 worth of cast iron wheel & suit case weights and I would have loved to have gotten 8-9 hundred worth of Rim Guard, but it's not available here and to have it shipped out would have doubled the price. I went with water and antifreeze for about $175.

One other question, what do you use all those tractors for? Is that so you don't have to change implements.

Oh, yes the 7520 is a great tractor.:)

rback33, I am not sure if I understand the question. All my implements came painted. The only stuff that I paid to have painted was the tractor, FEL and bucket. No the price of the tractor & FEL with bucket did not include the blue paint job. The paint job was an additional $900.

Hope that answers your question.

Spyderlk--thanks for the post. I hope some others w/the 7520 will post also which will help everyone who has that model.

Do u find a lot of uses for the backhoe? Some folks have told me that if I want a backhoe to hire it out (ie get a real backhoe). What do u say?

thanks
Your profile doesnt say how much land you own or what you do on it. That will determine whether a backhoe will pay for itself. In my experience it costs several hundred dollars to hire a backhoe for 1/2 days work. If you need this kind of capability often the cost adds up. The Mahindra 511 backhoe is big enuff to do real work and if you need light to medium backhoe work several times a yr it will pay for itself in a few yrs. Mine has saved me $1500 in its 1st 6 months. Not tomention the convenience and entertainment value of being self sufficient.
As for the tractor- it is good. I have used it hard only once in its 100 hrs. It seems to use about 3G/hr when using all its horsepower and seems happy to work hard. I have had 1 problem with the tractor itself - the intake manifold heater relay sticks. I have disconnected it until Mahindra gives me a replacement. Starts fine so far but cold is coming. Set up of the tractor with loader and backhoe was poor. Hydraulic leaks and many loose bolts attributable to the installation in Calhoun, GA. The loose bolts could have caused damage to the tractor castings, but I caught it in time. One tentative disappointment in the tractor. It doesnt seem to deliver 17GPM from the main hydraulic system as speced. Im still trying to verify - I really wanted that high delivery so I could use Skid Steer hydraulically powered accessories.

I bet you used lead paint for additional weight:eek: :D

Hi Dave, man did I blow that, I didn't even think to have lead paint used. Do you use your 7520 anymore? Or do you use a 3215 so that you get more seat time?:) You know that I've been really disappointed with you selling all those Mahindras. You never slowed down enough to paint one for me.:( Hey, forget that Corvette, go get a Ford GT, or since you've gone to Dodge, maybe a Viper!

Thanks

I like the 7520 4wd for the bigger jobs, and the 3215 for tighter areas. They compliment each other nicely. As nice as the 30-40HP tractors are, moving a big pile of dirt or brush is very satisfying with the 7520.

On the paint, counseling to fix your problem is better than painting everything blue!

I'd prefer a Z06, but I'd sure take a GT or a Viper...as long as it is red! See, I have no "blue" hangups

Dave--I have read several posts on cylinder problems w/the FEL. Do you know if the cylinder problems w/the FEL have been solved or will I have to have it fixed once I get the tractor (ie do tractors now being shipped have the cylinder fix already)?

Also, get the Z06--best sports car for the money without a doubt. Better visibility then Viper and much better car then the Ford especially for the money.

Blu,

I know that we have received and are changing out all the bucket cylinders on a certain group of ML275 (7520) loaders. I think all the rest now being shipped have been produced with the new cylinders.

Do you think a tractor guy could have a Z06 as a company car? Seems reasonable to me....I could make very quick service calls.

As far as cheap weight, I went with water for about $0.10. Havnt loaded the fronts yet. That would up the price. Due to the ample starting weight of the tractor with the Backhoe subframe, I havnt felt the need for more other than an implement for counterweight. I plan to add a 5/16" skid plate underbelly for protection and incidental weight nice and low.

I just did some woods work moving 20" storm downed trees with stumps. It is amazing what the tractor can do. My heavy duty Woods tooth bar did not live up to its name. It shortly became a snaggle tooth bar - - teeth bent, welds broken. A real disappointment considering I told them what it was for. Im guessing they have no concept. Ive repaired the breaks, but does anyone have leads on a really ruggedly made tooth bar?
